Contents: Tape 1: Early life in cotton fields of Texas; Father was a sharecropper. -- Mother's healing in Pentecostal services. Tells about farming all day with horses and going to revival meetings with horses and wagon 7 miles away. -- His conversion, baptism in the Holy Spirit, call to preach. -- Preaching as a teenager; Pastored new church while in high school. -- Attended Shield of Faith in Fort Worth. Knew Guy Shields, P.C. Nelson, Klaude Kendrick, Mother Bamford, etc. -- Pastored 4 years at Perrin, TX and evangelized. -- Pastored 9 years at Hobbs, NM (1946-55); Building projects. -- Elected at age 37 as New Mexico District Superintendent (1955-1968). -- Developed NM Church Builders, a loan program for district churches (later revised for Headquarters). --
Tape 2: Invited to Headquarters in 1969 as director of Stewardship Department; became Church Loan officer, 1972; elected general treasurer (1973-1988). -- Speaks candidly about events during his 15 years as general treasurer--Church Builders; disappointment about changes made in the program; death of his predecessor and good friend, Martin B. Netzel; Swaggart and Bakker scandals; general superintendent election in 1985, etc.
