Norwegian-American Pentecostals organized Scandinavian Pentecostal Assembly (Brooklyn, NY) in 1926. The congregation initially met at the Pulcifer Hall on the second floor of the Pulcifer Institute on Fifth Avenue. The congregation was later renamed Salem Gospel Tabernacle and was affiliated with the Independent Assemblies of God.
