Description:

John Thompson immigrated from Sweden in 1879. In 1903, while he was pastoring the Swedish Free Mission (Moorhead, MN), a Pentecostal revival broke out. He pastored that church from 1899-1910 and again from 1915-1927. Many of the participants in the Moorhead revival ultimately joined with Henry H. Ness in 1926 and formed Fargo Gospel Tabernacle (Fargo, ND). Many of Thompson's descendants have served as ministers and missionaries in the Assemblies of God.
Some items were written in Swedish and translated into English by the Swedish Club at Covenant Village, Golden Valley, MN and by Jan Augustson from Sweden.
Contents: John Thompson's memories (3 p. English; [11] p. Swedish). -- In memory of John Thompson / Hannah and Wm. Melin (1 p. English; 1 p. Swedish). -- Map of Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND, site of the burial plots of John W. and Carrie Thompson ( 3 p.). -- Recollection of Iola Stone Sandberg (granddaughter) of the final moments of John Thompson's life (in email from Cynthia Ali).
