Description: Press photo of the exterior of the main building of Frank Sandford's ministry at Shiloh in Durham, Maine; February 1959.
Caption on the back of the photo says: Shiloh, all that remains of evangelist Frank Sandford's 'heaven on earth' still stands on a hillside overlooking Durham, Me. Its dome, surmounted by the gold crown is a local landmark. Shilah was the central place of worship for Sandford's colony. Most of the people who once lived here are dead or retired to homes run by Sandford's sect, 'The Kingdom, Inc.' But their descendants carry on his teachings and traditions. Ministers of the Kindgom say the sect is more vigorous today than ever.
Photograph is stamped with a date of Feb. 13, 1959.
