The Lord's Church was an independent church founded by E. G. Gerhart. J. W. Hulme, Jr. was formerly the pastor of Evangelistic Temple in Houston. Hulme was the son-in-law of Raymond T. Richey. Gerhart was a brother-in-law of Raymond T. Richey. Hulme was the nephew by marriage of E. G. Gerhart.
