Worshippers at a recent tent revival held at the Assembly of God Victory Temple on Transcontinental Drive in Metairie listen attentatively, upper left, as evangelist Jesse Duplantis preaches the gospel. Duplantis, once a night club entertainer, has preached for three years. Having established a lucrative career, Duplantis says he found himself unhappy, drinking and taking drugs, then three years ago he felt the call to the ministry. 'God said to use my talent,' Duplantis said. At lower left, Duplantis blesses Linda Sicard during a laying on of hands. A sign, upper right, advertises tapes of Duplantis' testimonies for sale. Photograph is stamped on the back with a date of September 12, 1981. Note: Only the first picture mentioned is featured here. The others would have been included in a newspaper article.
