Title:
Pentecostal District messenger (San Antonio, TX; F. A. Hale, ed.)
Description:
It appears there was a Texas District from August 1914-April 1917 when at the district council it was decided to add New Mexico and Arizona to the District, making the Tri-State District. Then later a Texas District was formed in 1931 out of the Texas-New Mexico District, with just Texas by itself being a district again. Before that it was part of the Tri-State District (Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona). It was comprised of what is now North Texas and South Texas, with West Texas being a part of the Texico District (West Texas and New Mexico). It operated as the Texas District until South Texas became its own district in 1953, causing there to be a North Texas District and a South Texas District. The name was not officially changed to North Texas District until 1956. M. B. Netzel continued as superintendent of the new North Texas District.
This title apparently ceased in 1921 or 1922. The status of official publication of the district was bestowed on The Shield of Truth (ID: 134557) as of Nov. 1922.
