Title:

Box 4 : Fellowship of Christian Assemblies doctrines and polity

Format:

77 folders ; 28 cm.

Description:

Henry Jauhiainen (1924-2015), Finnish American pastor, writer-editor, prominent historian and theologian, served the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies, originally known as Independent Assemblies of God. Jauhiainen was the chief architect behind the name change to FCA (1973) and its carefully considered statements on doctrine and polity (Process and restructure).

Over the course of 60 years, Jauhiainen collected materials relating to FCA. Among these materials is a collection of historic files from which he intended to write a history of the movement. The history never materialized, but his archival collection and historical notes have been deposited at FPHC.

The entire collection consists of 8 large archival boxes (10 linear feet). They have been organized under the following topics: Biographical/personal files (124/3/1); Churches pastored by Jauhiainen (124/3/2); Other FCA churches, Process & restructure files (124/4/1); FCA doctrinal and polity files (124/4/2); FCA, Individuals (124/5/1); FCA missions and missionaries (124/5/2); Jauhiainen sermons (124/6/1); Historical reference files (124/6/2); Each archival box is cataloged separately. The folder labels have been kept as nearly as possible as Jauhiainen assigned them.
