Title:

Medallion: G. B. Cashwell : Holy Ghost outpouring (2010).

Format:

Bronze medallion; 3.8 cm. (1.5 inch) diameter

Description:

G. B. Cashwell visited the Azusa Street revival in 1906 and returned with the Pentecostal message to Dunn, NC. There, he held meetings from Dec. 31, 1906, through Jan. 1907. This revival has been dubbed 'Azusa East' due to it's impact in introducing Pentecost to many in the South, including a large number of holiness ministers. This medallion was issued in 2010 to mark the erection of 2 historical markers in Dunn, NC. One was erected as a NC state historic marker, the other by the church.

The Church of God of North Carolina, Inc. was formed in 1997 by former ministers of The Church of God (Charleston, TN).

Bronze medallion with no added color; front has image of Cashwell in center; top--'In honor of Gaston B. Cashwell;' left of image--'Aug 27 2010' (date of commemoration); right side--'1862-1916;' below image--'Acts 2:16-17a;' around edge of lower half--'Pentecostal apostle to the South.' Reverse: image of dove and flames in center; around edge at top--'Holy Ghost outpouring;' under that--'God's fire;' under image--'Man's experience, Dunn, NC;' around bottom edge--'Revival of Dec 31 1906-Jan 1907.'

Medallion is in a display box, 10 x 8 cm., with 'G. B. Cashwell Memorial, Dunn, North Carolina,' imprinted inside the lid.
