Description: A convert of Margaret Peoples Shirer who was dramatically healed during her early ministry (standing on the left), Margaret Peoples Shirer (center), and another man from Burkina Faso (right); circa 1977.
Digital copy only.
Eleven months after Margaret People Shirer broke their language code, she preached her first sermon in an area 60 miles to the north at Poe. A man left for dead, violently attacked by snakes, was miraculously healed! Years later, when he heard 'Mama' was in Upper Volta, he came to see her. A 'rider' came into the Mission Station one morning announcing that the 'Brother' who was healed under Sister's ministry was approaching the camp.
He was a very large man. When he got close he began to call 'Mama, mama!' They ran to meet one another. He gathered her up in his arms and her feet were 'dangling' about 2 feet off the ground. Tears of great joy were shared! After he recovered from almost dying, he became a great deacon and missionary. He showed the dep scars on ohis arms from when the snake had almost killed him.
