Description:
|
Consists of a newspaper account of the event in 1978 when Aaron Daniel Rogers conducted a prayer service in which he expected his mother, Gladys Ruth Rogers, to be raised from the dead. Both were from Harrison, AR. The body had been kept for several weeks and had been brought to a mortuary in Reeds Spring, MO, where a crowd of about 500 people gathered on Easter Sunday. With much media attention, there was no resurrection.
Although this is a local Ozark area story, there is no indication if Rev. Rogers was Pentecostal. The article does not list an affiliation or denomination for Rogers or two other ministers who took part in the prayer service, Harold Bogan and J. T. Williams.
