Description:
|
It appears there was a Texas District from August 1914-April 1917. In 1917 the Texas, New Mexico and Arizona to the District (Tri-State District) was formed. Then in 1931 Arizona withdrew from the Tri-State District. As a result, the Texas-New Mexico District (Texico District) remained until 1939. Later, the Texas District was formed in 1939 out of the Texas-New Mexico District, with just Texas by itself being a district again. The Texas District operated District until South Texas became its own district in 1953, causing there to be a North Texas District and a South Texas District. The name was not officially changed to North Texas District until 1956.
Yearbooks contain constitution and by-laws, District Council minutes, ministerial directories, church directories, and annual reports. However, the contents of yearbooks are inconsistent, and may lack some of these elements. As a result, some of these elements may also have their own archive record.
