Rev. Charles H. Nicks, Jr., was Pastor of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, from 1972-1988. Following a transition to a more openly Spirit-filled worship and theology, Rev. Nicks founded the Baptist Assembly of Free Spirit Churches. This would be the base for the formation of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.

The group is presented here as 'Joy.' Some of the members previously sang as the Choraleers. Group members are LaBarbara Whitehead, Cynthia Felder, Henry Neal, and pianist Darrell Bush. Charles Nicks, Jr. plays organ and sings on at least two of the songs.

Album includes a poster (16 x 20 in.) of the group.
