Description: Press photo of William R. (Bill) Rogers (left) holding a sign for his 1968 candidacy for U.S. President with the Theocratic Party and reporter Tom Mackin (right) standing outside the Montgomery, Alabama courthouse; April 1966.
Photograph is stamped on the back with a date of April 25, 1966.
Caption on the photo reads: 4/22/66--MONTGOMERY, ALA.: Bishop W. R. 'Bill' Rogers, 1968 presidential candidate of the Theocratic Party outdistances reporter Tom Mackin during his dash around the Montgomery County Courthouse 4/22. Rogers, affiliated with the Church of God, ran around the building seven times in keeping with the Biblical story of the falling of the walls of Jericho. Rogers said he'll run around every county courthouse in the nation on the theory the buildings will collapse if there is 'corruption' inside.
