Description: Salem Gospel Tabernacle (Brooklyn, NY), located on the corner of 52nd Street and 7th Avenue, circa 1940s.
Norwegian-American Pentecostals organized Scandinavian Pentecostal Assembly (Brooklyn, NY) in 1926. The congregation initially met at the Pulcifer Hall on the second floor of the Pulcifer Institute on Fifth Avenue. In 1931 the congregation purchased a former theater building on the corner of 52nd Street and 7th Avenue. The congregation was renamed Salem Gospel Tabernacle and was affiliated with the Independent Assemblies of God. The congregation moved to 5324 Fourth Avenue in 1942.
