Bishop R. A. Carr was pastor of Rehoboth Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic in Baltimore, MD, from 1934 to 1970. The church moved to Poplar Grove Street in 1955. The recording date is between 1955 and 1970. He was also the lead founder of the Church of God in Christ Jesus (Apostolic) organization and served as its first bishop.

This recording was in a sleeve for a message preached May 17, 1959, at the annual convocation of the Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic. However, that sleeve shows Carr Records and Harrison Record Co., neither of which appears on the record.
