Inscription continued: The First Assembly of God church was organized in Malvern, Arkansas, in 1914 by Fred Lohman. The first deacons were Walter Tillery, Johnny Clem, Mart Phelps, Oden Baker, John Whatley. This building was erected in 1927 during the pastorate of Lafayette Romines.
Commemorative plate to remember the old building and possibly as a fundraiser for the new building. The building pictured on the plate was replaced in 1956 (see Pentecostal Evangel, 18 May 1958).
There are two production imprints on the back of plate: Rhythm by Homer Laughlin (maker of the plate); World Wide Art Studios, Covington, Tennessee (responsible for artwork/imprints).
