Caption on the back of the photograph says: TRY MAGAZINE EDITOR ON SPIVALO LIBEL CHARGES. LOS ANGELES CALIF Under subpoena as defense witnesses in the criminal libel trial of Dan McNally, crusading pamphlet editor, Aimee Semple McPherson, evangelist, encountered for the first time in public since their divorce suit, her former husband, David L. Hutton, also listed as a defense witness. McNally faces charges of libeling Rheba Crawford Spivalo, acting pastor at Angelus Temple in his pamphlet known as 'Dan's Searchlight.' Johnathan [Jonathan] E. Perkins, a writer for the magazine, is a co-defendant. Photo shows, in court l-r: Perkins, Hutton, McNally.
