McAlister, one of the founders of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. His father, Walter E. McAlister served as a general superintendent of the PAOC. About 1960, W. Robert began ministering in Brazil, founding a church and a denomination, Igreja de Nova Vida (New Life Church). W. Robert was a son-in-law of Alfred G. Garr.
