Description:

Description: Salvation Army Captain Rheba Crawford, portrait, head and shoulders; September 1922.

The Vamp Evangelist, prettiest Salvation Army Lass, who is beloved by theatregoers, to who she makes her appeal for aid for the Salvation Army, is Rheba Crawford. She makes them give, and like to give, which is quite a feat. She is well known all along the gay White Way as a pleader for a serious cause.

Back of photo is imprinted with a date of Sept. 29, 1922.

Rheba Crawford, a onetime associate of Aimee Semple McPherson at Angelus Temple, served also with the Salvation Army, the Congregational Church, and with the North China Mission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
