This unity celebration held on Monday night, April 13, 2009, at Timmons Temple Church of God in Christ in Springfielld, Missouri, was part of a 3-day event jointly sponsored by Timmons Temple Church of God in Christ (Springfield, MO), Kingdom Movement Ministries, Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center, and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. The event served to remind people of the positive and negative effects of the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles which began in April 1906 and the lynching in Springfield, Missouri, which also took place in April 1906.
