Description: D. L. Moody, portrait, head and shoulders; circa 1880s.
Digital copy only.
This is an original period photo but it seems to be from a re-touched negative or photo. The photo has some light wear, but otherwise is very good. D. L. Moody (1837-1899) was an American evangelist who founded the Northfield Schools in Massachusetts, Moody Church and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and the Colportage Association. Ira Sankey was solo singer/music director for their evangelistic campaigns in both the United States and Great Britain. Dwight Lyman Moody was the first evangelist since Whitefield to shake two continents for God.
