Description: Norwegian evangelist Signe Taranger, at Esra hvilehjem (Esra Healing Home), located in Kapp, Norway, on the occasion of her 70th birthday; 1964.
Esra hvilehjem, initially a convalescent home, was founded by Rakel Taranger (b. 1864). The founding year is unknown, but after some time she was assisted by one of her nieces, Signe Taranger (1894-1976). When Rakel died in 1952, Signe took over and retained the name. The home was considered by local residents to be anchored in the Pentecostal movement. However, they must have been independent Pentecostals, because they were not members of the nearby Pentecostal church (Filadelfia in Lena). Signe Taranger sold the home to a Christian ministry to the blind in 1964.
