Title:

Christ, our shepherd [artwork] $c / Earle T. Favro.

Format:

23 x 32 inches

Description:

Item consists of artwork depicting Jesus with a shepherd boy; several sheep are in the background of the pastoral scene. Artwork is done by adding layers of material, constituting a 'flannelgraph' portrait. Framed.

Rev. Favro originated this style of artwork, using layers of colored cloth that would adhere together. The process became known as flannelgraph.

Although active in wider evangelical circles earlier in his career, Rev. Favro and his wife, Alice Mae, attended the Garr Memorial Church, an Assemblies of God church in Charlotte, NC, in their later years.
