Since 1948, the yearbook has been titled Karisma. In the early years, each issue had a separate title or theme: Pioneer (1937), Conquerors (1938), Life savers (1939), Torchbearers (1940), Builders (1941), Messenger (1942), Harvesters (1947).
The school began as Northwest Bible Institute in Seattle in 1934. The name was changed to Northwest Bible College (1949-1962), then to Northwest College of the Assemblies of God (Northwest College) (1962-2005). The school moved from Seattle to Kirkland, WA, in 1958. The name was changed to Northwest University in 2005.
