Rev. Charles H. Nicks, Jr., was Pastor of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, from 1972-1988. Following a transition to a more openly Spirit-filled worship and theology, Rev. Nicks founded the Baptist Assembly of Free Spirit Churches. This would be the base for the formation of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.

The mass choir recorded here was formed at the annual assembly of the Baptist Assembly of Free Spirit Churches.
