Ralph Underwood was an associate of Martin S. Charles, an atheist and editor of The Godless World Magazine (Oakland, CA). In 1932, both accepted Christ and became evangelists. They personally identified as Baptists, but their ministry was non-denominational, and many of their services were in Pentecostal churches.
