Back of photo says: STREET CLEANER BECOMES BISHOP. THE REV. EUSTACHIO PAOLICELLI, ORDAINED AS BISHOP IN THE CHURCH OF GOD AT JAMAICA, N.Y. TEMPLE, MAY 5, IS SHOWN HERE WITH SHOVEL AND 'WHITE WINGS' IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH. HE WON't ABANDONED [sic] THE UNIFORM, HE TOLD HIS CONGREGATION, COMMENTING 'I MUST CONTINUE AS A STREET CLEANER TO EARN MY BREAD. I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THIS WORK.'

This church, known as the Jamaica Tabernacle, was pastored by Homer A. Tomlinson, son of A. J. Tomlinson. At that time it was part of the 'Church of God, over which A. J. Tomlinson is overseer' which later became known as the Church of God of Prophecy.
