Correspondence relating to British Israelism.

Description:

Clara E. Shetrone Smith (1907-1980) was a Pentecostal who was member of Judge P. E. Gardner's congregation, The Tabernacle (Los Angeles, CA), which taught British Israelism. This collection consists chiefly of correspondence and various writings (1937-1941) relating to her promotion of British Israelism.

Holdings: Along with Mrs. Smith's letters, one of which was written to Aimee Semple McPherson (11 p.) and three of which were written to President Franklin D. Roosevelt (3 p., 6 p., 3 p.) respectively, she wrote many poems, described dreams and visions she had received, and shared other thoughts and meditations. (3 p.). -- The Christian way of solving young married couple's financial problems (Presented a the Young Marrieds class, 1st Baptist Church, Inglewood, CA, April 1940; 6 p.). -- Plans for organization of an Auxiliary service group to the tabernacle (Nov 1936; 4 p.). -- The true date of the crucifixion and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ [copy of a tract] (7 p.).
