Caption with photo says: WOMAN EVANGELIST ASSAULTED FOR THIRD TIME. Mrs. Alma Rogers, Assembly of God pastor, evangelist, at San Angelo, Tex., who was recently attacked by an unknown assailant four miles south of Miles, Texas. This was the third time she had been attacked. A woman cut and attempted to kill her with a butcher knife on the first occasion. The second time she was waylaid in her home by an unknown masked man like the won [sp] who struck her on the last occasion.
Photograph is imprinted with a date of September 28, 1926.
Unable to locate Alma Rogers on any ministerial lists of the Assemblies of God. She was not an official minister, although she probably was pastoring an Assemblies of God congregation around this same time period.
