This is one of more than 60 separate releases of the songs on this album, initially released in the United States in 1960 by Omega Records, titled Sister Rosetta Tharpe. It has appeared in the U.S. and many other countries under that album title, as well as Spirituals in Rhythm, Gospels in Rhythm, I Saw the Light, and other titles.

This version is a German release by Intercord, probably from the 1970s. The liner notes are in German.

Rosetta Tharpe (1915-1973) grew up within the Church of God in Christ. Her first husband, Thomas Thorpe, was a COGIC minister. Although she gained celebrity status within the secular music world, Tharpe continued to sing gospel throughout her lifetime.
