Description:

M. E. (Mahlon E.) Layne, an active A/G layman, provided funds for the establishment of the Layne Hospitality Home of San Diego in 1941. The home served as a temporary residence for Navy men who desired to be in a Christian environment while on leave. The home housed thirty men. Retired A/G pastor Irvin Rattan and his wife Bertha served as the first directors of the home.
The questionnaires were sent out to former residents of Layne's Hospitality Home requesting information such as: When were you at Layne's Hospitality Home for servicemen in San Diego?; Were you or your spouse in the service? Or were you there because you attended one of the local churches which worked with the Home (Or was it both)?; Were you and your spouse mattied at the Home?; Please share your testimony about the influence the Home had on your life and/or what has happened in your life since those days, and what you are doing now.
Marge Marshall used some of the information from the questionnaires in her news letters [The Home News].
