Meng Zhao Han (1908-2005), a prominent Pentecostal leader in Xining, China, was converted under evangelist John Sung and became an independent Pentecostal itinerant evangelist. He became pastor of the Pentecostal congregation in Xining in 1951. He was imprisoned for his faith from 1955 to 1962, and his church was closed by the government. In 1983, he received permission to reopen the church. By 2005, the church had 4,000 members and had planted numerous additional churches in the region.
