Description:

Dr. Joy Joseph (1940- ) was born in Poruvazhy, Kerala, India. His grandfather was the first member of the Assembly of God church in that region of Kerala. Assemblies of God missionary John H. Burgess first held services in the family home. Joy began bi-vocational ministry in 1960. In 1971 he married Thankamma Joy. A nurse, she was able to help financially support his ministry. They moved to America in 1975, living in New Jersey (1975-1976); Chicago (1976-1990); Chattanooga, TN (1990-2020); and Atlanta, GA (2020- ). He continued to travel to and minister in India. He was ordained by the Indian Pentecostal Church in 1981. He started ministering in countries outside the US and India in 1996 or 1997, and has now ministered in 51 countries. While ministering in the Philippines in 2018, he wrote a small booklet, 'What Will Happen Tomorrow.' It was first published in Tagalog, and later in 2018 was published in English in India. It has been published in 10 languages (English, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, Spanish, Polish, and Tagalog).
