Churches--Sovereignty, relationships, and classification : committee report to the General Council.

The committee, appointed by the Executive Presbytery, was asked to consider three closely related areas in reference to the actions of the General Presbytery and the General Council: 1) Make recommendations relative to eliminating the word 'sovereign' from the General Council Bylaws; 2) Respond to the action of referral to this committee as proposed by the General Council of Resolution #16, namely, the relationship between churches, district, and the General Council. 3) Consider bylaw changes as related to the above, as well as clearly defining a district affiliated church and a General council affiliated church and to also set forth the proper procedural pattern to becomeing a General Council affiliated church.
