Leroy A. Duke was born July 25, 1920. His father, Benjamin Hoffman, was a German Jew who deserted his mother before Leroy was born. His mother died at age 19 when he was just 15 months old. He was raised under the name of Leroy Duke. He was converted under Hiram and Clara Brooks at the corner of Delaware and St. Louis Streets in Springfield, Missouri. He became their song leader and youth leader. Also a Sunday school teacher at their church. He has now been in the ministry for 58 years. He was licensed in 1941 and was ordained April 22, 1948 with the Assemblies of God. He has traveled many places as an evangelist and has a great story to tell.
