Description: A group photo of the pastor and congregation in front of The Healing Church of Christ at Haiku, on Maui Island, Hawaii; July 13, 1947.
This is reported to be the first church building erected for Pentecostal people on Maui Island. The church was built between October 1946 and Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947, by Hal N. Spence, assisted by over 50 of his friends. The dimensions of the church was 20x40 feet. A parsonage was later building and added to the left side of the building. A Filipino pastor took charge of the congregation in 1947.
