Album #: PLP-17
The 500 voice crusade choir and the Kyoto Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, arranged and conducted by Ralph Carmichael.
This three-week city-wide crusade was sponsored by World Vision in 1959. Bob Pierce, President of World Vision, was the speaker.
Ralph Carmichael arranged and conducted the 500-voice choir. The Kyoto Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra provided music, supplemented by Lorin Whitney featured on organ and Charles Magnuson on piano.
Some of the numbers on the album are instrumental only. Others feature soloists in English. The choir numbers are in Japanese.
Side 1: Holy, holy, holy -- The solid rock -- This is my father's world -- When I survey the wondrous cross -- It is well with my soul -- Stand up for Jesus -- I am bound for the promised land -- The lost chord -- Side 2: How great Thou art -- I'd rather have Jesus -- Hymn medley -- Be still my soul -- It took a miracle -- Nor silver nor gold -- It's real -- Hallelujah chorus.
