|
Description:
|
The Southeast Alabama and West Florida District was formed on December 1, 1915 at Hartford, Alabama. It included Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Georgia. Mississippi separated into its own district in 1916. In 1920 the district was called the Alabama, Florida and Georgia District, then the Southeast District, and then finally renamed the Southeastern District. In 1925, a separate Florida District Council was created, but West Florida continued to be a part of the Southeastern District until 1929. Beginning in 1930, the district was renamed the Alabama and Georgia District Council. The Georgia District and the Alabama District both formed distinct District in 1935.
