Description:
|
Rodger A. Cree, in this 1987 open letter to Assemblies of God Home Missions and Native American leaders, detailed systematic problems regarding how the Assemblies of God treated Native American churches and pastors. He encouraged these issues to be addressed at the September 1987 regional convocation of Assemblies of God Native American minsters. This letter (which became known as the Cree Letter) became the basis for a resolution that went to the General Council floor in 1989. Native Pentecostal News began publication, in part, as a result of this letter. Rodger Cree, at the time, served as pastor of Lighthouse AG (Taholah, WA), located on the Quinault Nation.
