Description: Press photo of Harry Anderson (left) with his eleven-year-old daughter, Mildred (right) in a hospital room in a charity hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, where Mildred passed away soon after from acute rheumatic fever, a weakened heart, and a light case of pneumonia; March 1935. Mildred's parents were members of Assembly of God Tabernacle (Shreveport, LA). The parents refused to allow Mildred to receive medication to treat a fever. The courts intervened and placed her in a hospital, where she died. The story was widely covered in the media.
Caption on the back of the photo says: Girl Dies as Faith Cure Fails.
Photograph is stamped on the back with a date of March 11, 1935.
