Description: This is an AP Wirephoto with the following caption: (For use Sunday, Feb. 8, with Jack Lannan's Durham, ME., APN story on Shiloh.) 'THE MODERN ELIJAH' The Rev. Frank W. Sandford (right), the self-styled 'Modern Elijah,' poses with the Rev. Charles E. Holland and their families at Shiloh, former spiritual headquarters of Sandford's 'Kingdom Inc.' at Durham, ME. The date of the picture is not known. Sandford and his followers founded a colony on a Durham hillside about the turn of the century and built a retreat with 575 rooms. The colony broke up when Sandford was sent to jail after a tragic, unsuccessful voyage to the Holy Land. But followers still carry on the late evangelist's traditions. Philip F. Holland, son of the late Rev. Holland, is now minister-caretaker of Shiloh.'
