Description:
|
Essie Binkley West was an early worker with Aimee Semple McPherson. She became known as the 'Angel of Skid Row.' She played her trumpet on skid row, stopping in bars to preach and pass the hat. In 1941, she started the Sunshine Mission a home for unwed mothers. She was often written about and congratulated in the newspapers for her work at her Sunshine Mission and her home for girls. This was an angel who made a difference in many lives.
