This is considered to be the first edition based upon the note at the end, which directs readers to order additional copies from Gospel Herald. This was the title of the North Central District publication up to [Oct.] 1929.

This edition includes everything the later printings and editions contain, but it also includes some sections that do not appear in any of the subsequent editions: Under the section that deals with early church fathers, 'Calvin, 1500-1564,' is included in this edition only. After the section titled 'The Subordination of the Son to the Father,' this edition includes a section titled 'The Faith of the Apostolic Church.' After the section titled 'Be Careful How You Treat the Spirit,' this edition includes further discussion on the Holy Spirit under the following headings: 'The Deity of the Holy Spirit'; 'Divine Works are Ascribed to the Holy Spirit'; 'The Spirit Shares in the Name Jehovah.' This edition also contains a final section not included in later printings: 'Some Absurd Explanations of Scripture.'
