The General Council Correspondence School was founde in 1948. In 1958, the school's named changed to Berean School of the Bible. In 1967, the Assemblies of God Board of Education suggested that the ministerial training be officially assigned to Berean School of the Bible. Also, in 1967, the International Correspondence Institute (ICI) was founded, and its name changed to ICI University in 1993. Berean School of the Bible became Berean College in 1985, and further changed to Berean University of the Assemblies of God in 1995. However, Berean School of the Bible has always been retained as the name of the division of the institution having oversight of the institute-level ministerial training programs. In 1998, both Berean Univeristy and ICI University merged and became Global University.
