Description: John Klemin, portrait, head and shoulders; 1978.
Photo caption says: The comparatively small pentecostal denomination, with an estimated 350,000 members in 2550 churches, traces its history to the Azusa Street Mission in Los Angeles, where in 1906 the pentecostal movement was born. The particular branch responsible for Conquerors Bible College flourished in the south and its current president, John E. Klemin, came to Portland from the mission field. He was a missionary in Argentina, and after moving to Portland served as pastor of a United Pentecostal Church at 1552 N. Killingsworth St. Klemin is the sixth president of the Bible college, which primarily trains young people for missionary work or Christian education, or as associates of pastors.
