Title began as National Revivalist, published by National Revival Crusade, in September, 1948. In 1954, the title changed to Commonwealth Revivalist, and the organization was renamed Commonwealth Revival Crusade. Beginning in January, 1955, the masthead was simplified to 'Revivalist,' although the title continued as Commonwealth Revivalist. In 1963, the organization was renamed Christian Revival Crusade, and the publication officially became Revivalist.

British Israel teaching, anti-Catholic sentiments, and a preference for a Historicist view of bible prophecy, are no longer formally reflective of the movement's views. The CRC's Charter, Declaration of Faith, Australian and International Strategic Directions, and various publications presented at the Australian National Conferences in 2003-2005 more accurately depict the present vision and doctrine of the movement and these are available from the Australian national office which can be contacted via its website http://crcchurches.org.
