Description:
|
This is a 1945 edition of a National Geographic map of China on which is marked the route that V.G. Plymire followed on his 1927-28 trans-Tibet evangelistic expedition. Consistent with his unwillingness in his lifetime to say whether or not he had reached Lhasa, he has left unmarked that portion of the route which, after his death, it was ascertained, he followed to Lhasa. On the map this route is the thin red line beginning at a place named Nagchu Dzong, situated where the route he has marked makes a westward bend. This thin red line continued southward to Lhasa. Because of this map's age, most place names are spelled differently from contemporary maps.--David V. Plymire.
