Description:
|
In the 1960s, the Assemblies of God Foreign Missions Department developed a survey of the Bible schools in order to determine the areas of commonality and to develop a degree of standardization for all missions schools. The 78-page questionnaire included questions on the following areas: ownership, statement of purpose, products (students, graduates), general auxiliary functions, structures, personnel, classroom teaching methods, non-classroom training, and extension training and correspondence courses. A compilation of responses was sent to each school which would enable each school to implement a program of self-study and to development planning; to assist in the planning by providing information about other schools with which to compare and contrast; and to improve long range development and coordination of the total Bible school program in foreign missions.
Nyasaland Bible Institute was started in Limbe in 1949 and moved to Dedza in 1953. It was renamed Assemblies of God Bible Institute in about 1964, when the country of Nyasaland was renamed Malawi.
