Description:

Sol Hoopii was a native Hawaiian who was a very skillful player of the steel guitar (Hawaiian guitar). He moved to Los Angeles about 1920 and achieved success in the secular music field. In 1938, he was converted to Christianity at Aimee Semple McPherson's Angelus Temple.

Hoopi later moved to Seattle where he became a close associate of the Tutmarc family (Paul H. Tutmarc, Sr., and Paul H. Tutmarc, Jr. [Bud]).
